Peanut's story

Peanut came in with three cage-mates when a student household split up. Syrian hamsters must live alone, so each needed a separate home — Peanut was the first to learn that hands bring sunflower seeds.

He now runs to the cage door at dusk, climbs into cupped hands and pouches treats with enormous ceremony. He is quiet all day, which makes him perfect for bedrooms and busy households.

Good to know

  • Hand-tame, takes treats gently
