Biscuit's story

Biscuit was found tied outside a closed shop with a chewed lead and an empty stomach. Within a week at the shelter he had learned the volunteers' footsteps and started waiting at the gate with a toy — any toy — for whoever arrived first.

He knows sit, stay and down, walks well on a harness and sleeps through the night in his crate. He is a classic young retriever: bouncy when happy, mouthy when excited, and completely devoted once he trusts you.

Good to know

  • House-trained and crate-happy
  • Loves car rides and water
  • Knows sit, stay and down
  • Best with a garden to zoom in

Daily care at a glance

  • Two walks a day plus play and training — about 2 hours of activity
  • Brush twice a week; sheds seasonally
  • High-quality dry food with some wet — roughly £45 a month
  • Annual boosters, flea and worm cover as standard

Ideal home

A home with a secure garden and someone around most of the day. Older children fine; cats unknown.

Three steps to adopt

  1. 1. Meet-and-greet. Come and spend time with Biscuit at the shelter — bring everyone who lives with you.
  2. 2. Home check. A short visit or video call to confirm space, setup and routine suit a Dog · Retriever mix.
  3. 3. Homecoming. Sign, pay the fee, and take Biscuit home with food, records and a month of message support.
